Pinnacle Charter Launches Parent Portal

Ahead of Schedule

Pinnacle Charter School has launched the Parent Portal.  The Parent Portal is a web-based system that allows parents to log in and track such things as their child's grades and attendance.

Pinnacle Parents were sent home a letter on February 11th that provided log-in credentials for their child, along with an explanation of the system.  Both teachers and students will be able to log in and track grades in each course, as well as seeing scores on individual assignments.  This powerful tool allows parents to take control and have real-time feedback on how their son or daughter is doing.  Click on the blue link to visit the Parent Portal.

Within the past 10 months, Pinnacle has implemented a new student management system (PowerSchool), created new report cards (grades K through 8) and leveraged the power of the Internet to bring their parents the Parent Portal.  Originally planned to be launched in September of 2013, the Parent Portal is 8 months AHEAD of schedule.

For parents of 6th, 7th and/or 8th graders, 3 thirty minute training sessions were conducted at the school.  If you were unable to attend and would like to learn more about navigating the Parent Portal, please click on the video below to see an overview of the Parent Portal (lasting about 9 minutes):

Pinnacle Charter Unveils Standards Based

Report Cards for Grades K-5

With work beginning in the late summer of 2012, Pinnacle Charter School recentlyupdated it's report card. The new report card is Standards Based.

This Standards Based Report Card is closely aligned with the Common Core Standards(adopted by New York State, 44 other States in the US and 3 US territories).Aside from reporting student attendance, this report card also reports what reading level a child is at, along with the performance on ELA and Math Common Core Standards. It also provides feedback on how a student is developing with respect to Learner Characteristics.

Aside from countless hours of work by Pinnacle staff members, the school collaboratedwith Erie 1 BOCES to complete the project.

For parents of Kindergarten to Fifth graders,  3 thirty minute overview sessions were conducted at the school. If you were unable to attend these sessions and would like to learn more about the Standards Based Report Cards, please click on the video below:
